Croatian Ruling HDZ Wins Election Without Majority

  • Croatia

Zagreb, April 18 (QNA) - Croatia's ruling HDZ party won Wednesday's parliamentary election, without securing enough seats to form a government, and with a decline from the result it achieved four years ago.

According to preliminary results, the HDZ won 60 seats in the 151-seat parliament, compared to 66 seats in the 2020 elections.

The participation rate in the elections was high, as an intense competition occurred between the current conservative Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and the country's left-wing populist President Zoran Milanovic, with hectic election campaigns. (QNA)
